Busy few days but now off work until 6th Jan - woohoo!

As of today I’m 1st 1.9 down - super pleased. Only another pound to go before I’m in the next stone bracket.

Had my pee test results back - everything was fine and kidneys are all good. Diastolic blood pressure is high, so they are going to monitor it monthly - see if it comes down with lifestyle changes.

Big, big step today - I’ve been for an induction session at my gym for the brand spanking new EGym facility. It’s a very fancy, hi-tech strength training program tailored to your own needs. I had been going to the gym for a while just to use the power assisted machines - which are very gentle as they’re for the disabled, old people and rehab. I had been rehabbing a back injury and also keeping my sister company as she’s disabled and used the power assisted machines.
Egym is quite a step up for me as it’s right in the actual gym. As a fatty fat fatty, this is several leagues out of my comfort zone and definitely much harder work! I have no doubt I shall be aching tomorrow, but maintaining muscle is going to be so important once I go on Mounjaro.

So, I’m kinda proud of myself today. it would be so easy to stick my head in the sand and pretend diabetes isn’t happening to me - believe me, that is tempting at times. But now I can truly say that I’m going all that I can to beat this thing.

I’m going to sign off today with the inspiring words of Chris McCausland, the amazing blind comedian who won strictly this year. “Things don’t need to be perfect to be a success”.

Xx

Well done on your achievements @Katetype2, you do right to be proud of yourself. I hope you have a lovely Christmas and allow yourself a treat or two x

Well done @Katetype2

You have every right to feel proud for the positive changes you’ve been making, and for starting at the gym! Hope you find it a helpful part of your self-care, and it slots nicely into your routine :care:

Well done @Katetype2 :star:
You are a good news story which is good to read, you are showing grit and determination, so well done.
