just a quick update seems i have uncontrollable diabetes basically either going too high or going down to hypo and in view of this and some other health issues which may be influencing the situation i am going to be referred to the hospital diabetic clinics.

downside with all what is going on it could take quite a while and have been told to monitor closely esp with having hypo's

by the way partner is doing well since the hospital stint of nearly 3 months.

Some hospitals are now doing consultations via phone so you may get lucky.

There are shedloads of ways of controlling your BG however it is perfectly true that many ordinary GPs won't know them all, cos they are just not expected to have to treat any of us that isn't bog standard.

There is no such condition as uncontrollable diabetes - so don't get telling anyone else that's what you have!

Just because the GP can't tell you how to, does NOT mean someone else with more knowledge, can't!

i have put a link in respect of the above comment.

i am under diabetic nurses and they can't get medication to work no matter what is tried swinging from high of 27 to then going below 2

uncontrolled diabetes

I think what @trophywench was trying to suggest, was that uncontrolled (or extremely difficult to control) isn‘t the same as uncontrollable. There is always hope that improvements can be made and new strategies or treatment options tried.

Diabetes is a complex condition with many many factors which contribute to its smooth running, or otherwise.

Different people, different metabolisms, different drug interactions, different physiologies, the contribution (or not) of various remaining natural body systems can make diabetes easier or much harder to manage.

I‘m sorry you are living with such erratic BG levels. It must be really hard for you. Hopefully the hospital can arrange a phone/video appointment to support you while the pandemic is resolved.
