I might be barking up the wrong tree here, but since I have had my problems with my neck and back this week I have been getting really high readings

Mornings bs have all been in the 6's for the last week - today was 7.9. My normal reading are 4 to 5.5.

My evenings after meal and before bed have been horrendous 11 + and as high as 16.8 (I'm normally no higher than 8).

Could the pain and stress of the pain be sending me high?? I've changed both insulins this week to see if that makes a differnce and helps bring them back in line.

Help !! :(

It's possible. Maybe you are not sleeping as well, or as active as you otherwise would be (you mentioned not being able to do your cycling until healed). I find my insulin requirements increase quite quickly if I spend a few days not being active/exercising.

If could well be...

I broke a finger just over a year ago not the greatest of injuries but enough to to rock my blood sugar levels..

But pain does cause stress which of cause leads to blood glucose raise, and if they give you steriods as well, then this will also increase your blood glucose

Hi Northy, Not been able to do anything for a week, no cycling, no walking etc driving me mad - I thought first Monday / Tuesday where down to Parties, but surely it can't still be having an effect 😱

I'm not liking this at all - how stupid an I ?? I blame my dad for making me move the concrete slab lol bless him x

Exercise has a big effect on your sensitivity to insulin, so a week without when your body is used to it would certainly have an effect. I usually increase my bolus (and sometimes my basal) if I've had an injury and can't run. If you are eating as normal then I'd say it's a combination of this and the discomfort of the injury. Hope Dad feels appropriately guilty 😉

Could be Di you more then likely are stressing over your neck pain and that dont help the ol BG x

It certainly don't - I'm getting bored of it now. I don't do pain to good x
