Unused insulin pens

I've just been swapped from Abasaglar to Tresiba, but I'd only just refilled my prescription. Is there anywhere I could donate an unopened box of pens as it seems like such a waste to throw them away?
I see the IDDT are no longer accepting insulin donations.

İf I can't find anywhere I guess I'll just use it up and start tresiba afterwards.

Morning @Lisa65 a quick google search kind of confused me as to if they are still collecting & sending to Ukrainian diabetic children (or somewhere else in the world) but I’m aware this charity was previously,
they are actually here in Northampton, I’ve previously supported them but really they are unknown to myself, I’ve just copied the below from their website www.iddt.org

Ensure your insulin is unopened, in-date, and not expired.
Package your insulin and supplies securely in a box or jiffy bag.
Send your donation to:
InDependent Diabetes Trust, 210 Abington Avenue, Northampton, NN1 4PR
https://www.iddt.org/news/news-releases/ukraine-appeal/ (they certainly have in the past been requesting unused diabetes supplies)

I’m hope it’s ok to share that information on here, but apologies if it’s not as (IDDT is another charity that supports diabetes)

I’d keep in the fridge in case you don’t get on with tresiba and want to switch back

Thanks for this post I was about to send them a parcel full on Monday. Mine are cartridges and I have new pens to use them with as well. I’ve been taken off insulin now.

Hi. Were you able to donate to them? If so, what is the process? Thanks!
I didn't like Tresiba so I went back on the abasaglar and didn't send them off.

You just need to parcel them up safely (bubble wrap and/or a Jiffy bag is good) and address to IDDT (details in @goodybags post above). One request they made to me was to post early in the week, as if sent on a Thursday/Friday they could be languishing unrefrigerated in a sorting office over the weekend!
