I can't actualy belive it, after spending soo much time sorting my teeth out, getting the money and getting half of the work done.....so I go to the dentist today and get one tooth sorted, and boom....part of another tooth breaks off!! I mean seriously! It was the other tooth that he did the root canal treatment on the other week so maybe this weakened it? Well honestly say my good mood has gone :(

Aww sorry to hear that

If the tooth that snapped was worked on by the dentist a fortnight ago, then I would be demanded that he sorted it free of charge as well s/he mucked about with it

I agree with Ellie, I would see it as part of the same treatment for that tooth. Root canals do make a tooth more brittle, but mine lasted several years before bits started breaking off. Hope you aren't expected to stump up extra cash!

I'm wondering if you have a calcium deficiency, because that's happened to me, the teeth snapped off at the gum line.

No pain as I had the nerves of several teeth removed years ago.
My calcium deficiency only came to light after my diagnosis with Coeliac Disease.

I also have osteopenia a precursor to osteoporosis BTW I'm only type 2
What am I saying only type 2! I shouldn't be type anything, if I had a healthy eating regime, but sorrily I'm a sucker - sweets, ice lollies, everything I shouldn't.

The tooth that broke is due to be filled in a week or so anyway so i guess he will just have to fill an extra bit! Im just so annoyed that it happened just when my mood had started to lift, just want something to go right for once!

just thought i would prove the name of this thread right by ranting about some...you guessed it, bad luck!

So i was on the train today just casually munching on some peanuts.....heard a CRACK!

A bit of my top tooth came away exposing the filling (that i have had for about 3 years now) so i was pretty p***d of about that....but i thought well al i will need is a crown or something....but then shortly after the whole flipping filling fell out!!!!!! 😡😡😡

I GIVE UP!

Aw Nikki, you are due for a huge dollop of GOOD luck after all this! I hope the tooth is easily fixed, and that your fortunes change for the better very soon 🙂

Rather than luck, it does sound as if you're deficient in something else. Presumably calcium, but might be better to chat to your dentist about it before he does any more work. There's always a reason and it might be a simple one, albeit with nasty results.:(

Hope you manage to get your teeth sorted without having to spend loads more. Dentist visits are rearely for nice reasons.

What a rotten time you are having with your teeth. Have you thought of buying some Calcium tablets, it may help you. I too have had some teeth that have broken off in the past and unfortunately, at the moment, I am also having teeth problems.
Good luck at the dentist again. I really hope things get better for you soon. Sheena

Thanks guys, seems like everything is just falling apart! fed up of it, another dentist appointment to be made followed by a large amount of money that i dont have!

Calcium tablets.....hmm will look into this thankyou x

Have you thought about changing dentist; I recently did that. Paid ?17 for an examination so I knew what I needed and how much it would cost. In the past I have opted for the tooth to be taken out instead of saved (I had an abcess which the dentist kept pumping me up with antibiotics - just wasn't working and I was totally fed up and in pain)..its a last resort? Amanda x 🙂

oh no, you are not having any luck at the moment :(

I hope they manage to sort your teeth out and fix all the problems you seem to be having.

Defo look into the calcium tablets I'd say. Good luck...you are due some!

I dont want to have to change dentist as there are no other dentists in the area taking on new patients at the moment and its conveniant as the dentist is 2 mins across the road from me 🙂
