Hi, the picture below is of a product I think some of you may be interested in. Its in the US. I don't think its available in the UK, but some enterprising person might want to contact the inventor/owner about a franchise. Why? Because as a T2D I've been looking for the holy grail of diabetic bread for years. I've gone the chaffle route, tried many a recipe. Some are ...okay. Unbelievabuns are made of some sort of protein flour. Each bun, which is a regular size, not some skimpy keto version has only 9 carbs. What is more, it doesn't spike my glucose. I can even eat 2 or 3 of them and I STILL don't get a spike. They're shipped to me from the factory frozen, although they're not frozen when they arrive. I simply put most of them in the freezer, and one box in the fridge for immediate use. Taste? Like real bread, which I suppose it is. It is chewier than a regular bun, so I'd rate it 95% of regular bread untoasted. Toasted: 100 per cent GOLD. Downside? Price. I order in bulk to get a discount, and I eat a lot of them, so it's not cheap. It does have wheat gluten in it, so if you've a problem with that, these aren't for you. Bread is just about my favorite thing to eat, so having one that doesn't hurt, and in fact helps me control my glucose is worth every penny. I don't know what you have at Tesco, but I can tell you that there are plenty of keto breads on the shelf here, and they all SUCK. Basically, they take an ordinary slice of bread, shrink it 30 per cent, stuff in some fiber, and call it keto. Two slices of this keto mini bread fails to satisfy but it spikes my glucose even though technically it has the same carbs as a single large unbelievabun. I can have a sandwich now whenever I want. I can have toast whenever I want. I don't know if it could be duplicated from just the ingredients, but I guess I could send a picture if anyone is interested. This is the most exciting keto product I've ever had.
