- Relationship to Diabetes
- At risk of diabetes
You might’ve heard that earlier this year, our team of scientists proved that remission from Type 2 diabetes could be a reality. Our DiRECT research trial has helped some people achieve healthy blood sugar levels without needing any diabetes medications – they are in remission.
But outside of this research, what does diabetes remission really mean and what could it mean for you? Well, we’ve put together some information on remission explaining what’s fact and what’s fiction:
· https://www.diabetes.org.uk/guide-t...eating-your-diabetes/type2-diabetes-remission - a page explaining the truth about remission.
·
– an animation explaining how remission works inside the body.
· https://www.diabetes.org.uk/researc...ht/research-spotlight-low-calorie-liquid-diet - read the research evidence for remission.
· https://www.diabetes.org.uk/your-stories/shivali-remission - Shivali is in remission, find out how she got there.
Some of you have already started conversations about remission, sharing experiences and advice. Share these links and spread the facts about remission and if you need some additional support, please feel free to/give our helpline a call on 0345 123 2399 or speak to your doctor about remission.
