Relationship to Diabetes
Hello, I am wondering if anyone out there has experience of coping with type 1 and vascular dementia? My husband, aged 71, has had diabetes for over 50 years and was diagnosed with vascular dementia 18 months ago. He still does all his injections and has a libre sensor but struggles with remembering to check glucose levels, working out how much insulin to take and whether he’s had his injection or not - without constant supervision. He also has no awareness of hypos anymore. Just wondered if anyone has any tips on making life easier for both of us!

Sorry to hear about your husband’s situation @Garbygirl

Does your husband use insulins that are compatible with the NovoPen Echo? That has a screen on it that shows the last dose given.

Alternatively there are replacement insulin pen caps you can buy that can tell you when the last dose was given.
