Cynical you may call me but I would suggest they reason they have mislead you over who you could take to your "inverview" was they didn't want a third party to whiteness what they were trying on with you.
As others have said ACAS is the way to go, they have an excellent web site which will allow you to down load and print what ever you need from it.
I don't know what line of business your employer is in but Unison, or Unite membership might also be a possibility, it's only a few pounds a month and they cover most public services suppliers between them.

Hi Jackie no i dont think its right download Employment and Diabetes Advocacy Pack from Diabetes Uk sit down with your line manager and watch the horror face as they read it, Equality Act 2010 give you all the rights you need to know, that they should know, i know its hard and stresses you, dont stand for it

Georgia, whilst it’s not always possible to prove a definite link between pneumonia/infections and diabetes, there is a greater risk. I know this link relates to type 2 but it doesn’t stretch the intellect too much to know the risks exist for type 1’s too and possibly the risks are even greater. This article explains;

Thanks all.

I have forwarded on the advocacy pack to my line manager and explained that I don’t think my rights and reasonable adjustments are being met.

The only thing that concerns me is my absences aren’t directly linked to my diabetes. However with the pneumonia and the broken ankle, I of course have to be more careful with this type of thing due to my diabetes.

I have a fear that they will just throw back at me these rules don’t apply as they aren’t diabetes related illnesses ...
