Being a type two who is very fit and not on any medication, I only test about once a week just to check that I'm OK. My results tend to be a point or two either side of seven just about all the time. When my Freestyle meter was changed for a Nexus one, my scores seemed to go up slightly on average and I put this down to there being a difference between the meters. I decided to buy some test strips for the Freestyle meter and test using the two meters side by side to see how they compare. I was expecting that the Nexus one would always read slightly higher but this turned out not to be the case. The results are usually fairly close and which meter gives the slightly higher reading varies. What I did find was that the Nexus meter occasionally gives a false reading of over 10 and it was these that were bumping up the average. These false readings showed up due to the wide disagreement between the meters and when I did a second test with the Nexus it would then closely agree with the Freestyle.
