I've written this post a fair number of times and keep losing it (wonky internet connection I think) so it started out much more detailed and is getting progressively thinner with each attempt.
I splurged on two cookery books recently in the hope of getting some good meal ideas because I'm getting bored with my usual fodder. They were both half price and both worth a look if you need some ideas. There's probably 10-20 recipes in each I'd have a go at, so probably should have tried the Library first but I fancied a splurge 🙂
Hemsley & Hemsley "The Art of Eating Well" is a bit more faddy I'd say with a definite whole food centre, but their recipes are low carb, mostly gluten free and a good number are vegan (not their meet section though 🙂). It has some great ideas and alternatives though. They don't use refined sugar either but substitute with maple syrup (which could easily be replaced with sweetener in most recipes if you wanted to). They have a blog with some of their recipe (link below)

The real surprise was Jamie Oliver's super foods, there's some good tasty recipes in there and I really like his protein bread. Some are high carb recipes, some low, but he lists the fat, calorie and carb content for most things. It's half price in Smiths at the moment.
Both have recipes for porridge alternatives which I've yet to try but I like a bit of gooey gunk of a morning so may be trying them soon 🙂
