Hi
I'm on the insulin pump and use my tum for canulas. I've noticed that I've started getting a dodgy tum a lot. Is this because of the insulin?

Never feel like I can just phone the hospital and ask questions!

Thanks

I wouldn't have thought so. Unless your cannula site is uncomfortable and you are subconsciously tensing your abdominal muscles?

Hi Suzie,
having an upset tum has nothing to do with having your cannula placed on your tummy.
Perhaps a visit to your GP would be a good idea if it's an on going problem.
Hope you feel better soon.

No it's only your skin and the fat under it, doesn't get anywhere hear the abdominal sac that contains all yer workings.

Have you ever seen on a telly op, the tummy muscles they have to get through to get anywhere near your innards? Imagine trying to sew a button to a mattress with an ordinary sewing needle, except you have to go through the mattress until you come out the other side! :D
