hi everyone, I have been offered a pump on the NHS, and have narrowed down my options to two possible choices. these are the tandem t-slim or ypsomed ypsopump, could anyone on these pumps give me some pros and cons about either? I know the ypsomed one is less common than the t-slim, but not much else...

I had the tSlim for 4 years. It was small, sleek, and the best looking pump I’ve ever had by far. Nice colour touch-screen too.

Will you be getting sensors to work with the pump as a Hybrid Closed Loop, or running it manually?

The menus are pretty logically laid-out. There’s an emulator app you can download that will allow you to try out the menus and features of the tSlim on your smartphone.

The filling of reservoirs was a bit more fiddly than my previous pump, but if it’s your first that wouldn’t be a bother as you’d have nothing to compare it with!

There was a pretty good range of sets to try, straight, angled, and metal. With a choice of self-serting and manual insertion
 
thank you for the info, I'm going to be using a dexcom g6/g7 with it for a hybrid closed loop, and I'm definitely using self serting, since I struggle with insulin injections normally. also, I imagine the cannulas going in as feeling like the sensor, is that true?
 
I look forward to hearing how you get on with your pump @chameleons.

The increased options for me and the ability to match my basal to what I needed reduced the amount of hypos. I also found exercise a lot easier.

Interesting that you are going straight onto closed loop. I am reading of this quite often now. Let us know how it goes.

2 out of 6 T1's getting the Omnipod 5 the same day as me moving form MDI to HCL. I was surprised too and you still need to know the the pump works manually. I am glad I had over a year manual pumping as I learnt so much, and with my Libre connection issues I was in manual a lot and would have been clueless otherwise.
