I really feel for you all. Hayfever's a nightmare! I developed a tree pollen allergy when we moved into our first house - a little cottage in a wood in west Wales. Yep, we were surrounded by trees. I remember trying to type up a project for Uni in the Easter holidays with major bouts of sneezing that gave me major attacks of the giggles (don't ask me why). Our lodger thought I'd gone mad... Thanks for the eye drop tip, btw.🙂
I have always had hay fever, and it's definitely getting worse as I get older. I take one a day loratidine pretty much every day all year round now. I do try to stop it over the winter, but I'm also allergic to some animals, so my job doesn't help! But this last week I've had to start using a nasal spray and eye drops again - I use opticrom eye drops, available over the counter (most pharmacies do a cheaper, own brand) and it helps loads, my eyes were especially sore / itchy today
I've also had asthma since a child too, and that gets worse with every passing year, but the last couple of weeks have been especially bad, the pollen count must be getting high!
I've also found in the past just rinsing my eyes with the eye bath stuff you can buy helps too.
Hope you can find some relief Northie 🙂
I didn't realise I had hay fever to any great degree, the symptoms weren't severe, just the odd sneezes and a bit of eye irritation - till I developed a flare up of Ulcerative Colitis one late spring. With the high dose steroids, the symptoms of hay fever disappeared completely.
All things considered, this condition and its treatment is not perhaps best as a first line therapy.🙄
