Travelling to Italy next week and it’s my first time travelling g since being diagnosed. I know to not go through the full body scanner with my CHM but what do I do about the spare ones I’m taking- can they go through the xray machine?
Also how much insulation pens, needles, test strips, CGM etc should I take!
Will my CHM work on the plane if phone on aeroplane mode?
Sorry for all the questions- but nervous about it all!

No reason to apologise.
Coincidentally I am currently at Heathrow waiting to board.
Travelling with diabetes is pretty straightforward.
I always let the spare CGMs go through the scanner and have never had any issues.
Whether the CGM will work in airplane mode depends upon your phone. I am able to keep Bluetooth on when in airplane mode.
The advice is to carry at least twice as much diabetes kit as you expect to need. This includes insulin and spare test strips.
And keep ALL of it in your hand luggage.

I have just returned from a week in Portugal, all my diabetes kit went through the new x-ray machines with no issues and I went through the new body scanner wearing my libre , no issues with that either it carried on working as usual. On the flight my phone was in airplane mode and stayed connected all the time. Enjoy your holiday.
Kind regards
Martin

You might find this blog post by Lydia interesting. It’s quite old now, but she lists some tips based on her travels around Europe with her trusty Omnipod.

Have a brilliant time!
