Totally Stupid

For the last two years I have not used wheelchair gloves. Recently the limb people suggested I get a pair as I am heavily calloused across my thenars. Anyway I ordered some and they arrived today. When I saw them I thought WTF! Across the back of them is the "wheelchair user" logo. I find it bl**y ridiculous as when using them I will be sitting in a wheelchair either without a leg or with a very obvious prosthetic. I will try and see if I can fade them. The world is getting overloaded with signage and notices. I live in an over 60s block (hope to move eventually as it is NOT my type of lifestyle) and it has endless notices including nine where the waste and recycling bins are!

Could you wear them left to right or vice versa so the logo is face down on your palm side? I guess over time wear on the palms would fade the logo?

Good grief, how ridiculous! Is the sign supposed to be there to tell you what to use them for? Because at the end of the day it’s just a pair of gloves, they might have been designed to help wheelchair users but if you want to repurpose them for something else, what’s to stop you? Otherwise why is it there, do they think you need extra proof that you actually need the wheelchair or something?! Do the same company make gardening gloves too and put a picture of a trowel on those so that you don’t get confused about which pair you are wearing?!

Or, using a marker pen, draw a circle around it and a big X over it? And, if anyone asks, tell them the meaning of this sign is 'No ridiculously unnecessary signs permitted'?

Remember back in the 70s, when you used to get patches to sew (or iron on) your denim jeans and jacket like a big yellow smiley. They were ideal for covering rips and stains but made your repairs look cool and trendy. Now, for some reason, rips and stains are all the rage... 🙄

The comfort, fit, and durability should be your main concern.
I imagine that you will have to try several designs until you find gloves that you can comfortably wear for hours at a time.

Why is it upside down?
I'd put a circle around it and line across, then tell anyone who asks that it is the new symbol for 'rubber side down' and will soon be compulsory signage for any wheeled conveyance.

How about using some very dark dye so it changes the whole colour of the glove and thus makes the symbol disappear?
