So had bloods and everything done last week for review today (turns out it was supposed to be a telephone one but hey ho) but there was protein in my urine, I felt a little low about this so decided to take a break away from the forum, all other results were ok though, my consultant isnt too concerned though and as my blood pressure is on the high side has decided to put me on medication for it so all should be well (fingers crossed) can't remember the actual name of the one he's put me on but I've to start it next week and book a blood test for the following week as it can affect pottasium levels, he had a student with him and logged into my LibreView and said to her if you want to see perfection then take a look at this, its only a small thing to some but means the world to me, ended the appointment on a handshake haha, and for those that find the Libre doesnt work for them etc and sometimes it puts others off trying it, my prediction for hba1c was absolutely bang on my lab results, up 1mmol from May but thats fine and I get to keep it xx

Good to hear from you @Kaylz, I wondered where you'd gone 🙂 Great results on the HbA1c - go you! 🙂 And always good to get a compliment, which you clearly deserve 🙂 About the protein, I would say that if the doctor isn't concerned, then you don't need to be - hopefully the new pills will redress the situation and hopefully no side effects 🙂

Great HBA1C 😎

Did they retest your urine? It’s easy to get a contaminated sample so one reading of protein in the urine isn’t usually an issue but it should be rechecked.

I love when they have students in with them as they tend to explain things more fully.

I Kaylz I would go along with what Northerner says. Big Congrats on your HbA1c. Keep on keeping on 🙂 x

Thanks my lovely, I'm more at ease with it after my appointment that's for sure, was in tears thinking the worst last week when I looked at my results! High blood pressure runs in the family, mum, grandad, granny all have/had it so it hasn't looked good for me haha, it's not the same one my mum and grandad is on that I'll be on I know that much lol, hope its there when I pick up the rest of my stuff on Friday as ordered needles and sensors, I see yours weren't there, hope they get them in soon for you, my replacement arrived the end of last week so I'm ok for at least a fortnight, was needing to ask the consultant about my contraceptive injection as one has caused scarring and can only be done in thigh and stomach (of course both of which I use for insulin) and I was worried about absorption issues, just wasn't sure how to bring it up but he asked if we were planning on kids at the moment as the medication isn't suitable for pregnant women so managed to fit my question in nicely! And he agrees I should stay on the one that's done by a nurse into hip muscle xx

Consultant said they wouldn't retest until after 6 months, he isn't concerned so I ament either xx

Congrats on your great HbA1c result Kaylz and so nice to get a compliment like that especially when it is made to a third party in front of you especially when it is well deserved. Hope the medication helps your blood pressure and the next urine sample is back to normal.

Brilliant result @Kaykz, sounds like your review went really well. We all know how hard you work keeping yourself as healthy as you can be so many congrats, you deserve it xx

Thanks Sue, I've struggled with my mood the last week with the worry hanging over me but feel much more at ease now, hopefully BP meds will be ready on Friday so I can get them started Monday, he says taking them in the evening has shown better results or something so even if they are ready by half 4 Monday I can get them started, just one more thing I'll have to keep an eye on and remember to reorder though 🙄 he's an absolutely fantastic consultant though xx

That’s good to hear, the best ones seem to be few and far between, glad yours is a goodie x

honestly he is amazing, never has a problem with anything I ask or whatever, even asked today if I was interested in a pump (which I'm not) but its great that the offer was there as I know many struggle in that aspect xx

Yes I’ve seen that on here with people wanting one but not getting one. Thankfully as T2 I don’t have that particular problem but having said that it would be nice not to have to pay for strips as they can be costly. I have my blood test tomorrow and review in a couple of weeks. I’m not keen on my DN at all, we don’t agree on most things so I just smile sweetly, get my results and take little notice of her. Any problems I ask the questions on here, much more reliable info.
Hope Bruce and Bubbles are behaving themselves and glad you are feeling more upbeat x

@SueEK amazingly there have been Type 1's that have struggled to get enough strips prescribed, for the first month they tried to limit me to 50! A quick call to my dsn at the time sorted that out though, I get 200 at a time these days and theres often I need them, others I dont, i didn't see a dsn today as didnt feel I needed to although always have the option to, good luck with your bloods tomorrow, if I get my BP meds on friday I'll phone and see about being booked in for bloods on the week beginning the 3rd, yes they are, I was only out 2 hours this morning but bubbles is becoming a pain if you leave for too long so couldn't even go through the house this afternoon without him meowing after me and when I've been in the living room hes been glued to me! Bruce was off today as he wanted to come to the hospital with me, was his birthday yesterday, bought him 2 sets of darts for it, £80! 😱 hes worth it though, hes just sold a rare set hes had for a while to a guy in Ireland for £100, hope your healing after your incident xx

Yes I’m good thanks, few cuts left on my knees but all the aches have gone, it was nothing serious like the others have had so I was lucky. Poor Bubbles is a bit screwed up, like my misty, but in different ways and like Bubbles isn’t yours, Misty isn’t ours either, she’s my sons but I’m gullible, or soft or possibly stupid haha. Nice to catch up Kaylz, take good care and glad Bruce liked his presents and that he came with you to the hospital x

That's interesting. I'm curious what the medication is.

Is it possibly Propranolol as I take that and they say evening is the best time to take it?

@Kaylz you have so much good news here, try not to focus on the protein too much - hopefully the medication/ a retest will help and if they are not overly concerned, try not to be - easier said than done, I know. Wonderful what was said about perfection. 🙂 Great HbA1c level too.

I think that's exactly what it is, I knew it began with p just couldn't remember full name xx

Thanks hun but it's hard when I've had so much c**p since being diagnosed, I was diagnosed with my first eye related condition less than a month after type q diagnosis that required urgent treatment (eye injections) and lasering to both eyes 2 years in for proliferative retinopathy even though I've had tight control the whole time so I worry more than most probably would xx

I never had any problems at all with it so hope it’s the same for you. Not taking it for BP but know it is used for that as well x
