Stir fried cabbage with bacon & Chorizo, onions with a follopy of Greek yogurt, and a scattering of hard cheddar.
Turned out alright, I added a good slosh of cider vinegar to steam the cabbage.
Next time, maybe add some carraway seed, and spices to give added zing!

Sounds very good to me! I like your thinking. Any variation of cabbage and bacon with whatever else you have to hand has to work pretty well. I quite like mushrooms with that sort of combination. I have cabbage and bacon in the fridge so that might be something I will do tomorrow night. Got to be smoked bacon for me but I guess the chorizo has that smokiness even if the bacon isn't

It was an experiment, but I liked the results, it's very much along the lines of sauerkraut, but with out the fermentation.
Something else to add to what I can eat, I should think it was low carb.
I am 2 yrs into my Diabectic journey,if I had gone up the road to the shops ,I no doubt would have come back with something I shouldn't have.
Thank full for the rain!

Thankful you got the rain and we got the sunshine!! 😉 :D

I'm like that with my cooking.... Look to see what I have that needs using up and what will go with it and throw them together and work towards a known flavour combination like goulash or curry but not actually follow a recipe.... just have a vague idea of most of the main ingredients and work it out as I go along. Only problem I have is that when it is really good, I have little idea of how to reproduce it because I forget what I threw in or the quantity. Makes for interesting cooking though!

The rain was an essential part of this lash up.
Any chance I could get my slippers under your meal table?

I can assure you that sometimes it doesn't work out as well as I would hope, but I don't believe in waste.... so I have to switch off my taste buds and dig in regardless..... or find a way to make it taste better. And it usually revolves around cooking at 10pm + and eating at midnight! I am terribly disorganized, which is why I can't follow a recipe.... I never have all the ingredients for any one recipe at the right time!

You sound just like me, masses of recipe books but just throw things together. Most of the time it is edible, sometimes fantastic and occasionally it has gone in the bin like an attempt at Cajun dish, nothing worked to make it tolerable.

I have chickens for those really bad efforts.... Not had any complaints from them yet and they rather like spicy food!
