Just wanted to pop a little post to say that I'm off for my first experience of laser eye surgery for my bleeding/retinopathy....

So scared, but from my previous posts and chats to other members, I think this scary feeling is more from not knowing what to expect than from any pain as others have assured me it is not painful, maybe uncomfortable with the contact lense bit and maybe sore, tired eyes afterwards.

Just a quick question, do you think I should run my sugars a little higher prior to the procedure in case of my sugars dropping from anxiety?

Good Luck with the surgery.

Anxiety tends to increase my blood sugars quite a lot - though with some people it does lower them.

Good luck 🙂

Oh Suze, I do hope that the surgery goes well and isn't too uncomfortable. I haven't experienced anything like this but I think I would feel the same as you and want to be a little higher than normal so I didn't have to worry so much about hypos.

Suze good luck with the surgery tomorrow.

Hope it goes well for you tomorrow. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery

Fingers crossed, m'dear. Let us know how you get on.

Good luck for Monday Suze, i think i may be following you in the near future so when your feeling better let us know how you get on and how it was for you.

hi I had the laser surgery for maculopathy and it was completely pain free. I hope your laser goes just as smoothly

Thanks ever so much guys, just on way into hospital now! Will report back! May only seem like a small thing to some but the unknown and najor to me! Lots of love...just in case! Lol x

I'm not surprised that you are worried because it is major and unknown. I Was "lucky" because there was only five minutes between me being told that I needed the laser and being taken into the laser room....enough time to get very scared but it was fine. I hope that you have time to properly rest and relax afterwards x

Good luck sue and here's to a speedy recovery x
