Anyone watching this series? I am really enjoying watching it and learning some great recipes to try out.

Not seen it @Gucci69, but I’ve got a copy of his ‘real pub food’ :D

I bought the book at the weekend, some of the meals are very high in carbs, but as a lot of them have rice, I will just leave the rice out and have a nice big salad or loads of veg instead. I already had my meals planned out and ingredients bought for this week, so will give one or two of them a try the following week. Tesco were selling the book for £11, although I think I might have seen it cheaper on Amazon.

Sad - he lost so much weight before when he went low carb, but seems to have put most of it back on. This series, and his last one, concentrate on the BBC/NHS "healthy = low fat and restrict calories".

@Gucci69 I have been recording and watching it - the recipes need some adaptation but with a bit of imagination and LC knowledge this can be done. I was hopeful as they have a diabetic on board the food would be a little more diabetic friendly. Some of the exercises have been useful for me to follow/add to my exercise regime and it is motivating to watch people doing so well.

Weight loss is often a yo-yo thing - I did Slimming World twice and lost over 4 stone each time (years before diagnosis) - that's partly to do with LF dieting and mostly my willpower - the problem is you can never deviate if you want to maintain. Despite being over 4 stone overweight at various points in my life when I was diagnosed this December T2 I was actually just over 2 stone overweight - which to me feels perfectly manageable to get rid of... added to that this is the first time in my life that it has been to do with long term health/condition/disease - which means that once I have my BMI under control - it WILL stay within range!

Hi I have ordered from The book People and it was £6.99, if you spent £25 you got 25% off certain books and free delivery

I love Tom, he still looks good and he’s not as big as he was. I love his recipes, I am tweaking them alittle. Made his peri peri chicken, dirty rice and coleslaw last night and it was amazing. Trying his cottage pie dish tonight. upload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.pngupload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.jpeg upload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.jpeg upload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.png upload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.png upload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.jpeg upload_2020-1-27_16-55-52.jpeg

Hi Neens
Yes I have adapted some of the recipes too. I love Tom, he seems so nice and it’s great to see him get healthier and fitter.
2 stone is an achieveable figure to get off, good luck x

You should check it out Mike, he’s taking a group of people through heathy eating and exercise using nhs guidelines, it’s on mid week evening and repeated Saturday morning. Some fab recipes.

Yes, I think I saw some of them interviewed on Breakfast a week or so back. Thanks for the recommendation 🙂
