Hi I have found just theses last few days the tingling in my feet has gone but when I get into bed at night for about half a hour the last 3 toes on my right foot go slightly numb once I wriggle them about or elevate my leg the feeling comes back this as I say goes on for about half a hour is this the next step in neuropathy ? Ps my bloods are usually never above 8 two hours after eating but they are normally in the 6 range

Hi .
Hmm can't quite fathom that one out if your levels are as you say it's not a case of high blood sugars. I know it's pretty boring advice but best to speak to your gp and tell her the feelings you get they will have the know how more then us. Good luck

I agree with Steff. The only answer I can give by myself is Sorry - I don't know!

I have read that alpha lipoic acid can help with various diabetic problems, so it might be worth a try. It doesn't do harm, as far as I know.
It could be other things though - if it persists it might be worth talking to your doctor.

Worth mentioning, though, ( because quite a few people on here have thyroid issues as well as diabetes) that it shouldn't be taken if you're taking Thyroxine or similar, as it can interfere with thyroid meds.

Oh - not come across that, and I take Thyroxine, have done for a long time.
I only just got the alpha lipoic acid - I better check that out. Thank you.

I just happened to come across it on the Webmd site, at the bottom here.
