toes appear to have gone on strike regarding nail bed healing
at last weeks clinic told the usual ....
looking good
where we would expect them to be
will take longer `cos of the diabetes
after taking steroids the healing process will slow down for a while
redness shows no signs of infection

nothing new there then

go back 24th next month
still got thick blackish scab on end of right toe, shows no signs of dropping off
had a `very gentle` pick at it. feels like it is super glued on
left looks much better now scab has gone
however, both still very sore a lot of the time, burning sensation at the cuticle area. No doubt a reaction to the phenol
and both continue to weep a messy buff mess which comes off with the dressings leaving a band of red flesh
so still wearing old trainers with toes cut out, wearing shoes/boots a non starter
tried cycling shoes and boots on yesterday, hmmmmmm
might be forced to go on a test ride in the very near future when the new components which are all due in by tomorrow get fitted
`aint forward planning great :D
swmbo is not `appy 😱
thought I had given the bike up 😉

no chance with n+1

good news. discharged from clinic today though will be kept on the books for a few weeks in case the small amount of healing required (scabs to fall off) throws a wobbler.

nurse reduced the thickness of scab to help things along, scalpel

only been able to wear shoes for last 2 weeks

so that has taken 14 weeks to reach this stage

busy couple of days, dentist in the am tomorrow and window surveyor in the pm to measure up for a different opening style pm for back bedroom

sort of bad news, had to increase insulin by 2 x 2 units per day. been a long time on old dose so no fears there ish

more good news, finally got a call from a survey I filled out, think from this forum, about diabetes and foot care and my experiences.
will be calling again as don't mind if it helps

So that's the end of the saga of tejbats toenails, probably 🙄

Great to hear tejbat! 🙂 14 weeks! 😱 But good to hear of the good outcome.

Hope things go well at the dentists 🙂
