I've been prediabetic for 5 years, with a current HbA1c of 46. Went for my annual appointment with the diabetic nurse yesterday. On the advice of my GP I have been testing 4 times a day as I was on a course of steroids.. The nurse told me I had no need to test now that I was off the steroids. Totally confused.

If you want to keep a check on your blood glucose levels and not drift back into the diabetic zone then I would continue to check, maybe not as often. Even if it means self- funding your monitor and strips, it gives you control over your condition.
