For years now i have been getting extreamly tired quadriceps, it comes and goes, but when its bad i cant even manage my 1 mile cycle to work.
I have had some tests, one with electrodes in my legs, and because i have OPMD an MRI scan, but they came back fine.
My doctors latest thought is simverstatin could be causing it. I have changed statin's but because i have had sciatica since the begining of November, i'm not sure if it is that. Has any one else had any problems like this??

Muscle pain is certainly a known side-effect of simvatatin - I suffered it myself when on them. Hopefully, the change of statin will help, which one are you on now?

I'm on Atorvastatin now. I don't get any pain, they just get very very tired like i have ran a marathon for the first time, it comes and goes, like i said i cant cycle 1 mile to work but other times i have done the 70 mile cycle to skegness.

Yes, I should have said muscle pain/fatigue, although I would have expected it to be fairly constant, not intermittent. How long does it last? A day or two or weeks on end?

Err, well if your trapped sciatic nerve is impeding the blood flow to your legs this is gonna happen? - husband Mk I was convinced he'd pulled a hamstring for ages, when he had actually slipped a disc and trapped one of his sciatic nerves. We watched the calf of that leg get thinner and thinner and they operated on him during the NHS 'general staff' strike in 1990 (was it?) cos they were worried about his leg dying basically.

Is your doc certain it isn't that causing it?

The tiredness can last for 3-4 months. Its not siatic nerve that causes the problem, this has been on and of for years, the siatica has only been there since November.
