hi, my child who is just gone 7years old has been newly diagnosed with type 1 diabetes. She has just come out of hospital after spending 2 weeks in there. She is on 2xdaily insulin injections

Welcome to the forum 🙂 sorry to hear of your daughter's diagnosis. Whereabouts are you based?

These days, 2 injections a day is considered to be very old fashioned - most children are on multiple daily injections or an insulin pump.

The best resource I think a parent can have is the Children With Diabetes UK group, their website is here: http://www.childrenwithdiabetesuk.org/

Take care,

Shiv

Two weeks is a long time to stay in hospital, what were her symptoms? What insulin is she using?

Hello and welcome to the forum

What advice have the Drs given you ?

Have they given you some way to test blood glucose and to check for ketones.

Its very hard from the little you have written to help - could you tell us a bit more about what your daily routine with your daughter is ? If you do then people will be able to give you more focussed comments.
