I've been self-treating for a good while now what I thought was thrush which wouldn't go away. I have been putting off going to the Dr (not for modesty but I honestly thought it would go away if I did all the usual treatments when it is thrush). Anyway I had to give in and today saw one of our lady Drs. She has diagnosed a condition called "Lichen sclerosus" which is yet again an autoimmune disease, often linked to an underactive thyroid which the Consultant is monitoring me for following my last Diabetic Clinic check last month.
However the point of this thread is to say "girls DO get recurring thrush checked out" - I think I've left it rather too long and, although they can get this present condition under control with steroid cream, I may have to go and see a Gynae consultant in case things have developed in a way I'm not daring to think of at the moment. 😱
