Blimey, you get your post early - we don't get ours untill about 1pm, and it has been known to arrive gone 4pm - probably ran out of coal for the steam engine!

I have only recently re-joined DUK, but last time I was a member this frustrated me. It seemed almost every month they wanted more money from me. It has been better this time they haven't sent me any yet, but we shall see in the post this week,

I must admit I wasn't too pleased to get a phone call from them a few months back, asking me to set up a direct debit for donations. This was shortly after I had raised over ?300 for them in the Great South Run. I explained that I had no money of my own to spare, so I tried to support them by fundraising. To be fair, the guy was fine - not pushy like those who collar you on the streets. I know they need to raise funds, but sometimes they can alienate people. I've run various sponsored events over the years, and there's a limit to how far you can stretch things with the people you know. Some people are very good, but I'm never pushy with those who decline - they may already be contributing to some other charity (some of them are just stingy!).

Fundraising is a tricky business, and there's a fine line with most people.

I think I joined DUK in Jan or Feb, so they've only taken 3-4 months to ask for more pennies from me! I hope they don't start phoning, we're all struggling at the moment aren't we?
But if I get this running thing back on track I would happily do a race on their behalf.

i used to be a member but stopped, aint had any kind of mail off them since lol
