hi just a quick question has anybody else received a letter lately or even today from diabetes u.k asking for you to become a member? i dont remember giving my address to anyone

Has someone else put you forward or asked them to send you details with asking you first? Contact Diabetes UK asking if they are doing a mail shot. If they are it will be everyone within a catchment area.

When I saw the DSN a few weeks ago she asked if I belonged to Diabetes UK, so it is also possible she or someone at the doctors surgery has given them a list?

well no one has asked me for any address details and when i saw DSN last tuesday they was no mention of diabetes u.k i will give them a quick call

hi steff i haven,t had a letter but my husband did asking him to become a member (he is not diabetic) i did at the time think it was a bit odd as i haven,t given any of my details out about being diabetic. how strange!

Yes Steff i recieved one just now in post but i am already a member, so i guess its just a mail shot.

There are so many folks being diagnosed these days, that a mail shot sounds a likely option. A lot of us use this site or similar sites, but there are many more who have no support at all. I think they are the people being aimed at and everyone (members included) gets into the mail shot.

i wouldnt be happy if the dsn passed on your address as it is a breach of data protection, if you register with the mail preference agency you won't get junk mail.. also if you haven't heard there is also a telephone preference agency to stop cold calling.

I think I remember having one few weeks ago and I am a member to DUK already and not long renewed my subscription fees so no wonder I was confused!
