Went to bed at 12.1 - which I'm happy about at the moment because of the hypo fear
4.30 14.4 - not too bad a rise from 12.1
5.00 14.3 Excellent staying steady
5.15 14.4 Excellent again because staying steady - I'm just checking that there is no change before I do a correction so that I can try to get a hopefully good start for the morning
5.30 Definitely decide to do the correction but think I had better test it just to be on the safe side because the sudden drops have no pattern - confidently do test - 13.2 aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaghhhh how has it dropped 1.2 in 15 minutes????!!!! I appreciate that it might be a slight error on the machine but now I dare not correct for another hour in case it is another of these sudden drops.
I'm getting particularly fed up because due to a number of factors, including Susie and mum and dad being ill, I haven't been able to see mum and dad since May so a few weeks ago I'd planned to go up on October 31st. However I definitely do not feel safe enough to go on a 4.5 hour train trip on my own and mum doesn't feel safe looking after me if I have a bad hypo. OH can't drive me because the trip would be unfair on Susie. But I am determined to do everything I can to get there next week - I've given myself a goal of 3 consecutive days with BGs between 6-12 so that I can travel. Keeping my fingers crossed that I can make this happen.

PS sorry for the ranting it's just that I'd been so used to getting really, really good results since going on the pump that I now can't understand why it is all going so weird.

Actually that does sound very steady. Once you hit double figures there can be quite a variation in meter readings, even when you do two tests at the same time on different fingers. Good luck at the hospital today 🙂

Thanks Redkite for the reassurance and the good luck. After I posted I tried to delete the post because, in retrospect, I thought that it was rather steady - mmmmmmh so this still leaves the question of why do I need 70% basal basal??! It will be interesting to see what happens today - just so hoping that I have another low sugar/hypo free day.

Sorry Amanda can't help with the basal rates, just hope you can maintain a stable rate and you feel well enough to travel.

Thanks Pav and Karen 🙂
