Hi

Due to running, I have lost 3 toe nails and they have all now grown back very thick and discoloured.

Does anyone know anything that I can use to try and get them back to normal or have I lost them for ever!

Its flip flop weather and i have become quite self conscious of them!😱

I would love to have lovely feet!:D

I'm afraid I have no answer to that. I have a toenail that turned black back in November last year and is showing no signs of being lost yet! In the past when I have lost nails they have eventually looked fine again, but I don't think there's any way you can speed up the process. Hopefully somone will contradict me! 🙂

Don't know of anything Lucy, but you could disguise them with a subtle nailvarnish. I have a toenail partly affected by a previous fungal infection and am hoping it will all grow out OK so the nail will look normal eventually. Hope you find something

While they might look unsightly, exposing them to air in sandals, with no nail varnish may lead to some improvement. If there's any fungla infection, nail varnish will keep nail damp, when dryness, plus sometimes topical medication or tablets, is needed to get rid of fungus. But nails never grow back as thin and smooth and pale as before when you loose them following blood collecting under nail. I am usually somewhere in the cycle of loosing / regrowing one or both big toe nails, usually resulting from running down slopes on mountain marathons - however tight I tie my laces, it always happens. Trepanning (making a hole in nail to let out fluid, by someone who knows what they are doing eg a podiatrist with an interest in sports) eases the pain, but the nail will still drop off.
