I watched it but I wasn't really surprised by the results because although both people said they what they ate what they wanted and exercised little, they both ate when they were hungry and seemed quite active in themselves. The other thing I thought was that both were ectomorph type builds so could be less predisposed to a heavy or stocky build.

I was curious that they said the woman ate a cheese rich diet and yet there was little evidence in the fridge of cheese.

I'd have been interested if they had put some overweight people on a similar regime to see if they'd lost weight.

Perhaps the cheese loving woman has a cool place to keep her cheese eg pantry / cupboard under stairs / shed. Cheese was a method of preserving milk for thousands of years until refridgeration at home became widespread in around 1950s.

I'm guessing the cheese never reaches the fridge the way she was putting it away! 😱 🙂

I was interested because I'm quite similar - it was only really after I turned 50 that I started putting on a bit of weight, although the point about alcohol is certainly relevant - they barely drank any, and when I stopped drinking in January 2016 I lost virtually all my body fat and over 1st in weight 😱 @Jangles point about them both being ectomorphs is certainly relevant - this is my body type. I also walk everywhere because I don't drive, although I probably do more than they do because I have also been a runner since 1983. I was interested also in the analysis of gut bacteria, which is appearing to be increasingly relevant and at the centre of much recent research 🙂

Saw this and no surprises really. There is no magic formula. It's all about perception. The two people featured were more active and ate more sensibly (in terms of what they ate/how much they ate) than they and their friends and colleagues thought. Forget LCHF, caveman diets and any other flavour of the month diet and go for a balanced diet with sensible portions and be active. I've always been fairly active but the times in my life where I haven't been as active I'm guessing I was still more active compared to others and I've always eaten what I need when I'm hungry.
