I have just discovered a rather interesting fun fact. That lapsing Catholics were responsible for the invention of sherbert filled flying saucer sweets.
“The Belgian communion wafer company Belgica invented flying saucer sweets in the early 1950s. The company produced the sweets when demand for their communion wafers declined. Astra Sweets, which acquired the Belgica brand, continues to make flying saucer sweets today.”
Are there any lapsed Catholics here? Would you be tempted back to the fold if bits of Jesus had sherbert in the middle?
