Brilliant well done.
Can I ask why would they take you of the register because of low levels is this the normal thing to do?

You continue to impress. Well done Mark

It seems to be the normal thing to do. At my practice, if you have 3 consecutive HbA1c readings of under 42, they consider you've got things under control & remove you from the register. I will still be having my annual eye tests as this carries on regardless, apparently.

Well done Mark

Thanks for the info. Seems weird they'll remove you because you have good control instead of monitoring it once a year just to make sure. What if you fall of the wagon or things go all to pot for no reason. I'll bet my surgery will do the same if I get mine under control too which is a shame as the once a year could be useful for all.
Good they keep an eye on the eyes sorry no pun intended. I must get my appointment sorted and soon.

Oh wow, Mark, that's brilliant - well done! :D

Interesting about the 3 consecutive HbA1c readings too...I wonder if my surgery does that...?

That's why I will carry on testing. If I notice any considerable rises that don't want to come down, then back to the GP I suppose.

It's funny really. GP's say Type 2 isn't curable, then they tell me I'm no longer diabetic!

That's a real tribute to perseverance and determination Mark...plus some pretty inventive recipes! Well done, you should be very proud! 🙂

I don't think my surgery take you off the Diabetic Register with 3 Hb's under 42. I've just noticed they take less interest in your diabetes under those levels. My GP didn't even mention my diabetes at the annual health review I have to have due to other serious conditions.

Brilliant result but I wouldn't take your foot off the brake too massively in the future Mark because you clearly have a pre-disposition towards the D.

Thanks, Amigo. I will still be having my retinopathy tests. Apparently, they can't stop that as they are automatic. I'm happy with that though.

Brilliant results despite your brother! :D Well done. I'd be over the moon.

Amazing you have given me hope to sort this.. all I keep hearing is that its a progressive disease.
Soe healthcare professionals can be less than encouraging :( I suspect it's because this is their experience, but in people who don't really know how to tackle things ( carbs not fully explained, no access to testing to determine effects of food choices on levels etc.). It is a very individual condition, so each person's experience may be different, but what is always true is that whatever your efforts, they will be helping 🙂

Thanks, again everyone for you kind words.🙂

Fantastic results and great you have added more food and still got a low HbA1c. I hope you have celebrated since then.

Yes. I had a jacket potato. I know how to party.:D

Sorry to hijack but something @Northerner said rings true if I'd went with the medical profession advice I'd be on meds now. I'm glad I found you all to show me the way to go 🙂 for the better.

@Mark Parrott I'm pleased with the results and the self monitoring too. Now you are living dangerously 🙂 a jacket tattie🙄
