The pet thread

Not pets exactly..... more family. They are all related, Cora (31yrs) on the left being their mother and then next to her MeMe (16yrs) who is her youngest daughter followed by MeMe's two older brothers, Rebel (27) and Rascal (26) and yes both lads were named very appropriately. 🙄 Rebel thinks he knows best and thinks he should make all the decisions but he can also be a charmer and a gentleman. Rascal is one of those loveable rogues. His talent is getting into trouble. MeMe is a sweetheart and the most comfortable horse imaginable to ride, but she lacks a bit of confidence unless her brothers are with her and Cora has enjoyed having and raising babies more than being ridden although we used to have some adventures together before and between foals.
They're lovely and so hansom, you must have great fun with them all

Thank you! We used to have fun and there were times when it was a bit "wild west"😱 but we are all getting a bit older and stiffer now and I include myself in that and I don't bounce when I hit the ground like I used to. 🙄 Still love them to bits, even though I rarely ride these days and it keeps me fit (and poor!!) looking after them, but I wouldn't have it any other way!

No more breaking and entering into the feed store, I hope!
Not since last time earlier this year, but there will always be a time when I am busy or distracted and I leave it on just the latch and forget to chain it as well and he will notice and be in again..... just like the time I forgot to chain the gate one night as I was late getting finished and we were going to the theatre and he let them all out for a tour of the village, whilst I was gone. 😳
My neighbour used to accuse me of falsely maligning Rascal when he and his wife first moved to the village, but he soon came to see the reality of the situation as their kitchen window overlooked my yard and he witnessed their antics.
The people who overlook the field where Ian's horses are have endless hours of fun watching them. Arthur has a thing for finding sticks (big branches/old fence rails etc) which he picks up in his mouth like a dog and waves around and sometimes uses to chase Zack. This is not normal behaviour for horses but Zack is learning the game and now either tries to take the "stick" off Arthur or goes and finds his own bigger/better one and they tear around with them chasing each other!

Here are my two mischief makers. Betty (mum) and Mindy. Both adopted from Cats Protection. They are avid hunters, great on a smallholding as they keep the rodent population down. Betty has the green collar.20230916_111024.jpg

This is Tufty, who I took on as a special needs cat 6 years ago. It took time for her accept me, but she has proved a wonderful companion from lockdown until now. She is definitely a one-person cat though, and hides or runs out of the cat flap whenever anyone comes.

Bless her, she's lovely

This is my other Cockapoo, Amber, we've had her from a pup and is now nearly 7yrs.

She's the boss, hug me or Mrs Alan and she will have your arm off, try and put something in her mouth and your fingers are fair game.
She is stubborn, very focused and incredible intelligent, unlike the other one who is as thick as they come

When a got bramble breeder also had cockapoos, was very tempted but thought 3 was too many. What are their coats like to maintain
Marvin gets a brush every day, and a series of home haircuts in small batches - he’s a bit like the Forth Bridge.

The only thing we have to keep on top of are the mats, because they moult into their coat rather than shedding, so it needs brushing out.

Sad news about my pets. Mindy my youngest cat was hit by a car yesterday and didn't survive the impact. A kind lady stopped and took her to the local vet. She was chipped so he phoned me yesterday afternoon. At least I got to say goodbye to her. She was only 2 years old. Missing her so much. :(:(:(<3
RIP my beloved Mindy
