Does anyone know how long it takes for registration to go through on The Insulin Gang forum? My daughter tried to register yesterday but it hasn't be activated yet?

I wouldn't have thought it would take long. But I guess as it is for children, they have to be more strikt with checking, which might take a little longer. And I think it's run by a parent, so if she's busy.....

As it's a childrens/teenagers group perhaps it can only be done after school.
If nothing heard by tomorrow perhaps K could email the site admin.
I know some sites do not accept certain email addresses as in hotmail.

Do they send out an activation email that might have got missed or diverted into a spam folder? I had a look at the site when it was first started but it was very quiet back then. There is a huge amount of extra responsibility in running a website specifically aimed at children which is one of the reasons that most forums have a lower age limit of 13. The specific rules are here:

I just had a quick look at the site 😱

Seems they may need a new moderator or two.

A couple of unsavory spammy type posts on there at the moment 😱

Hi everybody,

My name is Doug i am the main administrator for the childrens support forum www.theinsulingang.co.uk

I noticed that one or two people have had issuses trying to register on the site. Just to let everyone know we now have some help with moderation and all new registrations will be accepted then emailed an activation email. Please check your spam or junk email folder incase you miss this email.

We now have some anti spam measures in place to stop unsavoury content being posted, so it is now totally safe for our little ones.

For the adults we now also have a facebook page. Where parents of children with type 1 diabetes can get support and advice from others in the same boat. We are pleased to say we have approaching 600 members from all across the world but mainly based in UK and USA.

We are also organising a big summer fundraising day for JDRF and we have a fun day organised for the 14th JULY 2012 in Westbury Wiltshire, details can be found on our facebook page. We are also having a massive prize draw, with some 40 + donations of some fantastic prizes to be won, details on how to get tickets can also be found on our facebook page "JDRF Summer Fundraiser" All proceeds going to JDRF.

Hi Doug, thanks for the update, good to see that measures have been put in place to enhance security and safety 🙂 I hope that everything goes really well with your fundraising day, I have been following all your terrific efforts organising it on Facebook 🙂

p.s. I started a thread for it in our Events section a while ago:
