Hello all,
My name's Nial Giacomelli and I've been a T1 for just over 5 years. This is my first post, so I'm not sure how well this will be received, but I wanted to tell people here about a project I've started recently to develop a new kind of diabetic journal application.
I write software for a living and for years I've struggled to accurately monitor my blood sugar levels. I found existing applications to either be unnecessarily complicated or simply too slow when it came to adding entries. In the end I decided to do something about it by writing a new kind of diabetic monitoring application for the iPhone. It's helped me to get my sugars under control, and now I want it to help others by releasing it free of charge.
I've spent months of my free time working to develop the application, but I need funding if I'm going to be able to implement essential features. To accomplish this I've started a Kickstarter to help raise the money necessary to finish the application.
I've heard from lots of diabetics who have found themselves in a similar situation to me and it would mean a lot if diabetessupport members would take the time to watch the Kickstarter video and possibly share the link. It's a good cause and I'll need all of the help I can get to spread the word.
I will of course answer any questions you guys may have about it, so please don't hesitate to ask 🙂
Thank you,
Nial
