My husband heard on radio 4 this morning rather early that drinking red wine is good for keeping diabetes 2 in check... So... That's ok by me then !!
He was only just waking up but he's fairly certain that is what they said !

Did anyone else hear it? ( about 7 am I think )

It is - they'd been telling people to do it for years, then they stopped because Somebody decided it isn't PC for docs to steer patients towards alcohol. This is because we are not to be trusted and will go berserk so instead of one glass of an evening we will buy a wine lake and drink it dry.

Well I'm doing me best, but I've got nowhere near the bottom of it yet, if anyone on here wants to help me - pull up a bottle and get stuck in !

I know that my ex-hubby uncle was told way back in the 80's by his diabetic consultant to have a tot of whisky every night said it would help.. And that is what he did one tot everynight,

Sounds good, I'm not a big fan of wine, but last weekend we had a party and I did have a few glasses, my BG levels over that weekend were on average in the 5's !!! sooooooo, break open the bottle, I say.!

Oh, darn yes I remember now ! My dietician said one glass of wine , preferably red, with a meal - suits me fine to be honest 😉

A glass of wine when you fancy it is good for you. We are pretty sensible about drinking here, and if you enjoy it, why not? I like a glass with my dinner, but generaly don't if have to be up for work next morning as it makes me sleep for ages...
