I too am a meridian nut butter fan, except perhaps for the hazlenut butter...have you tried the pumpkin seed butter? Delicious and bright green :D

LJC, I did exactly the same thing with my bolus the other morning, took it got distracted by something shiny, then had to have a jelly baby aperitif with my porridge. Not a fab start to the day o_O Oh and you have to try celery and peanut butter it's divine.

@trophywench i see words, but my mind has no clue what they could possibly mean, Farecla, T-cut.......quantum physics

Ah yes, whenever I go in the health food shop they are always sat there on the shelf tempting me to buy them. I've always resisted and stuck to the peanut butter but I may just give in to temptation on my next visit. :D

If it's peanut butter it's got to be the pure stuff - not your normal rubbish with palm oil, sugar and stabilisers. I have Meridian (the Rolls Royce of nut butters) - 99% peanuts and 1% salt and for me it's got to be crunchy It requires a stir as the oil separates and rises to the top. Delicious. 🙂
Yum yum, I must look out for this one.

Watch if you open it and carry it to work( with the lid on). Mine leaked oil everywhere in its wee bag

Re Meridian peanut butter, I tried some yesterday oh boy is it yummy.
My usual supermarket sells it too 🙂🙂
The jar was sitting quietly in its cupboard till it heard me stumbling around the kitchen making a much needed coffee , now the jar is shouting at me and bouncing up and down wanting to be let out.

I don't think I can resist for much longer :D

See lunch sorted already 🙂 For me too celery Hummous and a bit of Apple 🙂

The power of the forum! Just found myself in my local supermarket walking past the spreads, having read this earlier, and jars of the cashew and the almond butters materialised in my trolley!
I hope you enjoy them, I'm pretty sure you'll be pleasantly supprised.
It's amazing what I find in my trolley sometimes , the other week it was 5 packs of sharing sized pork scratchings 😱 and I have no idea where they went 🙄
I've not tried those nut butters maybe they'll chuck themselves in next time. But I know S.n P.t peanut butter will never find its way through my front door again .

I have similar experiences. I go out and buy chocolate and every time I get a little bit drunk some bugger sneaks in and replaces all of my pretty, beautiful delicious chocolate with empty wrappers. I still cannot work this one out 😱

That'll be the chocolate eating monster, then. Second cousin to the Sock eating monster, but a bit fatter...

I've a very unrefined palate - peanut butter is peanut butter as far as I'm concerned, so I'm quite happy with the Tesco value stuff which is not only less than 70p for a decent size jar (compared to £2 for a smaller jar of the Meridian stuff), but is also, importantly, lower in carbs than most posh peanut butter despite having added sugar. Turns out that oil is cheaper than peanuts, so the value stuff tends to have a higher oil content which suits me fine - you just have to store your jar upside down to ensure the oil doesn't all congregate at the top.

Of course, you could also make your own - blender, bag of peanuts, some groundnut oil (rather than the veg oil everyone else uses) and then any seasoning of your choice, job done.

Ahhhhhhhh well Mrs Smartypants Annette you are wrong because as an ageing hippy I don't wear socks and as a type 1 diabetic I don't eat socks either 😛

No, no, you misunderstand. The Sock eating monster lives in my house, and eats my OHs socks on a regular basis. Which is why I keep trying to persuade him to just by black socks. Then it doesn't matter, they're all pairs... (For some reason, SEM doesnt seem to touch my socks.)
I thought socks were like cheese anyway - no carbs. 😉

You mean, Annette that there are more than one of the little b.....s? 😱 Our one though, only ever eats one at a time. Never a whole pair.

And curiously despite buying eg a 5 pair pack of what appear to be and advertise themselves as identical socks, all black - once any of them has been washed - they never again actually exactly match any of the other ones from the same pack.

So there you are with all 10 freshly laundered articles laid out on the bed, making the 'most similar' twos of the socks, back into pairs.

Can you remember when we had EXACTLY the same problem with multi-pack stockings?

I do so like the way this thread is now going. Please tell me more, lots and lots and lots and lots more about stockings :D

EUREKA!!!!! Who ever said that a diabetic forum was not really education? Every time I take off my training shoes herds of mice appear out of the holes in my skirting boards at home. It has taken me quite a long time to work it out.
