We went out a bit earlier for our normal weekly shop this morning, and found a queue at Waitrose which we joined. Then a passer-by said that there was another queue at the shopfront door for over-60s... ooh lovely! We joined it and waited about 5 minutes before being told to go in - as one customer left, the next in line was ushered through.

It was so good to have room to move about, not be jostled, and have polite and helpful staff supervising things. We even got a dozen eggs!

Thank you, Waitrose! :D

Were there any precautions for distancing or protection at the checkouts?

For the customers, yes - a strip on the floor showing where you should stand.

I haven't visited our nearest Waitrose for a bit, but I have a loyalty card, so got an email from them this morning explaining their procedures, it said they were in the process of installing screens at the checkouts to protect staff, assume they can’t do them all overnight.

My son went to our Sainsburys Store this morning more husband was fretting as he was gone a longer than he expected. They were restricting how many could go in.

I sent my oldest to the post office for me yesterday. The ‘spaced out’ queue was all the way out the door and down the road!

My middle daughter got me some shopping today from Asda. It was one in and one out. The staff were disinfecting the trolley before giving them out and you had to follow a one way system to do your shopping. She waited 40 minutes to get in but she said she flew round like she was in Supermarket Sweep as it was so quiet. She managed everything on my list barring Burgen, she got me Hovis seeded batch instead. I didn’t need loo rolls!
