Northerner

Admin (Retired)
Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
This week is volunteers week and I would like to take the opportunity to thank, in particular, all the volunteers who have helped to make this forum the safe, friendly, fun and supportive place it has become 🙂 During my time as Admin I could not have managed without the wonderful people who volunteered a great deal of their time to provide support to the many members, spot problems, diffuse 'situations' and deal with the spammers 🙂 It's not something you can do alone, you need the wise and varied perspectives of others, and I was certainly blessed with the best 🙂 Some have moved on, but some are still with us - not least our new Admin @everydayupsanddowns, who is doing a splendid job, as he always has over nearly a decade now 🙂 Thank you Mike 🙂

I'd also like to pay tribute to those long-term volunteers who are sadly no longer with us, @AlisonM and @Copepod, who were taken far too soon :(

Finally, to everyone who responds to any of the questions, pleas for help and support, or submits questions of their own that stimulate discussion and help make this such a vibrant, welcoming place - you may not consider yourselves volunteers, but without your input it would be a pretty quiet place! 🙂

Thank you, one and all! 🙂

Awwh @Northerner thankyou for that🙂 I think we all appreciate the effort of members who contribute to the forum.

Most of all speaking for myself I appreciate the effort you have inputted over the years as Admin, thankyou Alan.

@everydayupsanddowns has taken over as a Staff Member/Admin and doing a wonderful job, also thankyou Mike.

I agree wholeheartedly - how could I not?

OTOH despite volunteering to do this that or the other all my life, I have only ever offered to do stuff that interested me in some way and sometimes - sorry! - when I've just got frustrated with the poor job someone else is making of it. There again i guess when I've had enough of doing that job if I make a mess of it perhaps someone else will volunteer!

If it wasn't for this place I'd still be plodding on in absolute ignorance so its a big thanks to all the staff that keep here going.
A big thanks to all the members too as without them this would not happen either.
