Are there any tests you can buy to check for inflammation? Inflammation is linked to a lot of diseases including diabetes, arthritis and cancer. I remember once having a blood test at my GP's and was tested for C-reactive protein. I had gone to see my GP because i was having periods that lasted 2 weeks or more and she decided to give me a blood test which tested for C-reactive protein as it was an inflammatory marker, i remember it being quite high (27 i think) as it was an indication that my body was under stress. If this is quite important, then why are we not tested regularly for this?

I'm not aware of any home-tests available for this Carina. I don't know what the test entails from a processing point of view, but perhaps it needs a lab to process it. Also, from what I have heard others say here in the past, the results are not easy to interpret, and need to be considered in conjunction with other symptoms and the person's medical history, so probably can't be given without knowing the patient. Also, I would imagine that they wouldn't do the test routinely, just when presented with a situation where the test might shed some light on the problem.
