Had a bacon sandwich for lunch today using 2 slices of Warburton's protein bread. 5.2 before & 8.8 2hrs later!😱 I don't get that with Burgen (usually peaks around 7.3) so maybe the Warburton is faster release. I will test one slice on it's own sometime.

Just tested again in case it was a false reading. 8.0, so obviously not.:(

I still haven't been able to find high protein bread in our big morrisons, sainsburys or Tesco's but maybe it isn't worth trying. I'll keep a look out though.

We are all different & some may tolerate it better than me. And it was an isolated test & l do have a cold, so l will test again.

I seem to be OK with Lidl's protein rolls, especially now they have shrunk them.

But HiLo and Burgen spike me absurdly.

Am beginning to think it is the wheat causing the spike, rather than the carbs. So a food tolerance issue.
But if that is the case, then why can I tolerate the Lidl rolls? - enquiring mind really DOES want to know!

I also find the reduced size Lidl rolls better to my BG. In fact, it barely budges. I've gone back to Burgen for my bacon butty. Peaked at 6.4.🙂
