Hi all

Went to my local pharmacy yesterday to pick up test strips/insulin only to be told that they were having 'problems' with the supplier and wouldn't have any in stock possibly for weeks..

Luckily I have some Bayer ones left and Freestyle Lites from my spare one, but my Q is, shouldn't they have let me know rather than waiting till I went to get them?

I've been given the script back to check with other pharmacies nearby, but if they use the same supplier then I have to go see my Dr to add new strips on to my prescription which might not be until next week.

Confused!

There are three major drug wholesalers, so there's bound to be another pharmacy in your area that uses a different one to your usual. Have a ring round.

Which test strips are they?

I've been told this a couple of times before, and I either rang up the company or checked with another pharmacy, and there were no issues - it was just that chain was having a problem with their own supplier. There's a particular chain I no longer go into because of that (amongst other issues).

I'd try somewhere else first, I bet somewhere else has them.
