Does anyone have a TENS machine? Are they any good? I am thinking of buying one to see if it helps with my shoulder pain. Thanks 🙂

Hi Carol,
I used to have one and found it very good. Due to being on a pump now though I can't use it. So gave it to my car mechanic.
Is there anyone you can check with to see if it would be of any benefit to you?
If ione would help, I know Lloyds quite often have them on offer.

My experience was the opposite to Pumper_Sue, no harm in trying one as it could just work for your shoulder pain.
 
Hi Carol
I have used a Tens machine for back pain and found it very good. Did not buy an expensive one either, just basic Boots own brand.

I have two (!) TENS machines, I think they're fab! I've not been told any reason not to use them with a pump though - PumperSue can you explain?

It can feel like nothing is happening/it's not working while it's attached, and only when you turn it off or remove it do you realise that it was! I'd definitely say try one if you can though, as I know a few people who haven't liked them at all.

I thought of getting one, but it is too dear for me - round ?150.

Sure there are cheaper ones - but Dad has had his for well over 10 years and it still does a suberb job.

It was to do with the electronics interfering with the pump.I would rather not take the risk after hearing this information. 🙂

Boot and lloyds sell them for about ?15 🙂
 
Thanks everyone 🙂. I have decided that I am going to buy one to try. Hazel, I have seen the expensive ones but I am going to go with one of the cheeper ones at the moment to see if it works for me (I have a local Lloyds at the bottom of my road so going to go there).

Hi Carol,
I slipped a disc in my back once and the pain down my leg was too much to bear. I was given a tens machine by my physio and it did work in that it gave a different sensation - worth a try as I don't think they cost too much now!
 
I see Lloyds have their cheap machine at half price - but they have no stock, but you may be in luck down the road.
