We grow our own strawberries. I love freshly picked strawberries and have had about 6 this evening. They were naturally very sweet so I am not looking forward to my blood test. I really miss being able to have fruit when I fancy it :(

For many people, strawberries are one of the better fruits to indulge in, so hopefully things won't be as bad as you fear! If you can spare the strips it would be worth gauging your tolerance for them so you can (hopefully!) enjoy them guilt-free in future 🙂

Pleasantly surprised it was only 7.0 two hours after my transgression 🙂. I think that I am going to have to reassess how foods affect me. When I was first diagnosed it would have been a lot higher, probably 10+. Is it possible that reaction to foods changes over time? Still learning about diabetes.

You will have removed a lot of the stresses your body used to have to deal with whilst you were undiagnosed and then getting things under control, so it's quite possible that your tolerance for things has improved 🙂

You - that should be we! - are ALWAYS better off with the berry fruits.

But make sure they really are berries and not drupes (plums, damsons, cherries, peaches, apricots, mangos etc) or something else; limit yourself in this partic respect to only those that say they are - straw-berries, rasp-berries, blue-berries, cran-berries - cos it turns out that grapes are berries too, and they contain a wicked amount of carb! So are avocadoes despite the stones, it's a minefield!)

And rhubarb is a vegetable and tomatoes and cucumbers are fruits - so be picky and specific when you say you'd like stewed fruit and cream LOL
