I think I read about a technical glitch on this forum a few weeks ago. Recently, I’ve found pages ‘freezing’ for several seconds and then bouncing back to life. It’s not happening on any other websites.

Not had this, try clearing cheche, on phone could have too many tabs open for site.

I’m getting the same problem. The forum freezes repeatedly every time I use it...yes, I have given my ‘cheche’ a good clear out :D but it still keeps freezing.🙂

It doesn't freeze for me what browser are you all using I will forward this to admins.

Yep, still happening for me. It’s specific things eg when I click the Notification symbol above, and when I try to scroll down (the page freezes and won’t fully load or move). Also, I can click on a thread and it won’t register my click or open.

I don’t think we had any answer on the other thread, but it’s still not properly resolved as it’s still happening.

What is a cheche? How do I clear them?

Useful hint about having too many versions of the forum open.

Still not freezing for me. Sometimes take a little time to finish loading pages on my tablet. I am wondering if I've been hit by "fair usage" terms, and my speed has been cut.

Yes I’m still having the same problem, although actually I think it’s been marginally better lately. Not completely cured though! I’m using Safari on an iPad.

Hello everyone,

we were able to restart the server so I’m hoping it has cleared some of the issues.

A cache is cookies and temporary internet files. Eventually it can use up memory and slow things down a bit.

Are you using an iPad?

Hi Inka
Yes I am in an iPad.

Then you can go Settings>Safari>Clear Website History OR Advanced**

Note - if you click Clear Website History you will need to log-in again for some sites and might lose remembered log-in names, etc. So that’s why I use Advanced. In Advanced you can clear each site individually (by swiping the name and clicking the Delete that will appear).

Glad the forum is back up and running. Gave me a funny 5 minutes this morning when I got the error message 😱

Odd that only some people are getting intermittent issues - makes tracking down the cause very difficult.

Hope the restarted server clears some of these occasional glitches.

Could be the device and browser. And I suspect internet provider could have an affect as mine filters traffic

I doubt it, I think when this was a problem sometime back it was a server problem!

I think there's a chance it's compounded by which browser & platform is used. Like everydayupsanddowns about it affecting only some people.
Though, I've just had a thought! Is there more than one server? It could depend on which service you're connected to. Or the connection you have to it.

i had the same issue when trying to login mine said database error. at least up and running again. must of started last night as my browser went so weird but now working again. all ways when you want to shut down the computer.

It only freezes when I use my iPad, so Safari.

This was happening to many people and it looks like we are not using the same browsers, and clearing cache did not work. .
As I said before when this happened before it was a problem with the server, the problem today is not freezing it is not getting on the site at all. The main site was OK but as soon as you try to come to forum get site error message. Itried this as a alternative to my normal bookmark link.
