Study title​

Type 2 Diabetes Food Study (contact: jennifer.pugh3@nhs.net for further information)

Study description​

We are looking for participants with type 2 diabetes interested in participating in paid research using Dexcom continuous glucose monitors.

The study entails trying a menu of different foods and a day visit to the research facility - based at Hammersmith Hospital on two occasions.

We are looking for people between the age of 18-65 who are living with type 2 diabetes and are not using insulin.

You will be paid £100 plus £10 per visit for travel expenses for your participation.

Ethical approval​

The study received ethical approval in June 2021, REC REF: 21/PR/0563.

Participant requirements​

  • People with type 2 diabetes
  • Aged 18 - 65
  • non-insulin-dependent

Instructions​

You will attend a general health screening which will include a small blood test and an electrocardiogram. Once we are happy you are eligible, we will help you to implement the continuous glucose monitor either remotely or at the research facility. You will then complete 2 study visit days, where you will be fed 3 meals and have your blood samples taken along with a few other measurements.
