Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
Hi Everyone
I was diagnosed Type 2 several years ago and initially got my blood sugars under control taking Metformin and Gliclazide. All seemed well for a few years. Things started to change during lockdown when I had to shield for myself and my immune suppressed son, and work from home.
Didn't really notice my BS creeping up at first and as it did my GP started adding more meds, This has resulted in me being on Metformin S.R 2 x 1000mg daily, Gliclazide 4 x 80mg daily, Ozempic 1mg injection a week and laterly Dapagliflozin 1 x 5mg a day.
Prior to being diagnosed T2 I suffered a fractured vertebrae and have been on Duloxetine for pain. Last few months have had random intense pain in bum and thighs and stumble for no reason, GP thinks Amytrophy so has added 3 x 10mg Norttryptaline a day for that.

My HB1AC was 68 a month ago. My fasting BS is still 12-13. Not only do I rattle with all the tablets but Im getting seriously down with Diabetes, interested in any thoughts on my combination of meds as well as any pointers on how to start motivating myself and getting this sorted!!

Many Thanks for any ideas

Hi Gaza1016, welcome to the forum.

Wow, I know it might not feel like it but you've done remarkably well to manage all that you have!! Readjustments are part of the journey so I'm glad you've found us as we can offer support at this time.

I can't provide medical advice so can't speak on your medication but it might be worth having a chat with your GP just to make sure that all of the meds are not hindering each other and are needed still given that your numbers aren't super high.

Hopefully some members who have experience with taking multiple medications will be along to offer support but do feel free to have a look around the site in the mean time as we've got lots of stories of people getting a hold of things that may help with motivation.
