Hi all, I'm new around here. I was diagnosed T1 at the end of May and I'm currently on a fixed insulin dose regime. Novorapid 8,8,6. Plus 20 units of Lantus at night.
I am travelling - for the first time since December 2019 - on Saturday and will be having a very early start. I usually eat my breakfast at around 0930, but as I have to get up at 4am, I will either need a snack to tide me over until then, or a snack at some point during the longer day to bridge the gap between meals.
Is there anything I can eat that I don't need insulin for? I was thinking something like a lump of cheese, or a boiled egg, but didn't know if the protein would cause a spike at some point.
