Type 2
Hi just wanted to ask some advice. I was diagnosed type 2 last october, am on 4 metformin sr and 1sitagliptin a day. My problem is that the symptons i had before i was diagnosed have returned ie frequent visits to the bathroom, feeling shaky etc, they went away completely when i first started meds, would it be safe to increase my dose of metformin or should i seek medical advice.

Do you have any way of checking your Blood Glucose? If not I would certainly get yourself booked in ASAP to see your nurse/doctor.

Oh, and welcome to the forum 🙂

Welcome to the forum fender57 🙂

And yes, I'd definitely go visit someone.

I think 4x Met SR is the max dose anyway depending what size they are?

Hi Fender, I'd suspect you are on the maximum dose of metformin by now. Your doctor may increase or change your other meds, but do see him/her first - it can be very dangerous to try to sort things out yourself when you're not really sure what the problem might be.

Def see your Dr.
As a matter of interest what are you eating?
